Positive Futures works with young people with learning disabilities. For many people in this situation, coping with leaving the school and youth care environment is a major life challenge. The project's aim was to maximise the quality of this next phase of their lives by enabling them to positively respond to this challenge, gain independence, self esteem and confidence.

Conservation Volunteers Northern Ireland's Fermanagh Conservation Action Team is working with the Positive Futures Team, providing environmental and horticultural training and support with high levels of initial supervision. They have seen a steady increase in communication, independence and the life skills of the participants. Several have been supported to find employment in the environmental or horticultural sectors. The most recent phase of the project is the establishment of a food growing and healthy eating enterprise.
