Some minorities are not visible. Gay and lesbian people are as active on environmental issues as other people, but often don't identify themselves - partly because in the past some have reported some degree of hostility. In cities, with a large gay and lesbian population there will be strong networks and organisations linking people, many of whom may be interested to promote activities and get involved.
