Organisational skills courses are equally important, especially for those running groups or projects. These include leadership training, site assessment and working with volunteers with learning difficulties. As discussed in previous chapters your group will need to know how to communicate with other people in the local area, as well as how to work with each other. If you are working on a large area with a range of users, and you can see a possibility of conflict there are a range of techniques you can use to bring all the partners together. 'Planning for Real' is the best known of these, a technique developed for use in regeneration schemes by the Neighbourhood Initiative Foundation. They run training courses to help communities learn to use the technique. Other organisations which may provide suitable training include the Environmental Trainers Network, the National Association of Councils for Voluntary Service through local CVS, ACTAC, local colleges and community education centres.
