Hopefully by this stage the Head Teacher will be fully behind the project and can support you in this. Check with the school governing board and relevant local authority officers that your plan is acceptable. As a precaution, check also that the pupils and staff are fully insured for the work involved. Unless you are including a large scale earth moving operation, or are erecting fences along a road, planning permission should not be necessary. Check to see if your school is eligible for any grants and send off the applications. Have you other sources of funding? At what stage will you need the money?
