Chapter: 2.2 Working with local communities
Section: Introduction
Metadata: Details Buy this book

This section looks at how to start to work with local people and community groups. It looks at what we really mean when we talk about ‘local communities’ and the key points to remember when trying to build a good working relationship. It also looks at how you can help develop effective local participation so that people can be involved in planning and managing the project, as well as carrying out the work.

If you’re already active in a community then this part is for you. Some of this is aimed at people who’ve been active for many years, and would like to review what they’re doing, or perhaps just want to find ways to work to more effectively. We can always learn more!
