Birds are attracted to almost any small patch of land in their quest for food, shelter and nesting sites. A 'bird garden' can be created in a small area of the school grounds by simply making it more attractive to birds so encouraging them to stay a while longer or even become resident. Bird studies are very popular and there is a wealth of back-up educational material available from the Royal Society for Protection of Birds (RSPB).
