The British Trust for Conservation Volunteers (BTCV) has offered opportunities for hundreds of thousands of people all over the United Kingdom to volunteer their time, energy and effort in caring for their local environment.

Local Action draws on the wide and varied experience of its 2,000 affiliated local and community groups. It covers the best ways and means they have found to tackle all aspects of what might be involved in running a successful group. It will be of enormous help and support to anyone who wants to take positive action and undertake practical conservation work. This wide ranging advice should prove invaluable to any group, large or small, newly established or experienced, based on a school, residents' association, or urban wildlife group or just a bunch of friends facing a big project on a cold wet day and don't know where to start.

All the information is here to help any group tackle conservation work. It is for everyone and anyone who cares enough to get their hands dirty and have fun working together for a worthwhile cause.
