The following safety and equipment lists are basic to all aspects of hand hedging work. Powered equipment is not included here, but is mentioned where appropriate in later chapters. Machine work requires protective clothing and safety equipment additional to that which is listed below, and must only be operated by trained and competent operators. Hedging and fencing materials such as stakes, binding and wire are described where appropriate in the text.
