This chapter describes methods of managing aquatic and bankside vegetation in and around ponds, waterways and wetlands. This includes management by cutting, grazing or other control methods as necessary. An integrated approach is necessary to produce diverse and balanced systems which avoid the need for large-scale intervention. The establishment of aquatic and marginal vegetation, together with a pond management plan, is covered in planting and management of new ponds.
